The mission of the Maplewood Community Garden is to promote organic gardening practices and healthy eating, provide fresh produce to local food pantries, and nurture and encourage a love of gardening among its members and community partners.

February 19, is the date to start seeds indoors for a harvest around June 11th.
Timing is very important for a successful fall/early winter garden since cold sensitive crops must be planted in time to mature before cold weather slows and stops growth. Cool season crops need to be planted late enough to avoid the heat but early enough to withstand the first frosts of the season. Continue reading
The garden winterization work-day has been scheduled for October 30, and October 31, 2010. Each member will be responsible for clearing their plot, and general winterization of the garden. Your $25 deposit will be refunded on that day.
We’ll be decorating the gate posts, birdhouses and making a sign. Come join us at 8:30-9: 30 AM Tuesday morning (Jul 27)!
